On October 1976, an airplane from Cubana de Aviacion, with 73 passengers aboard, exploded in mid air. Among the authors of this terrorist attack that would further outrage the Cuban people against the agents financed by Washington, were Luis Posada Carriles and Orlando Bosch. The homage to the eight corpses of Cubans that were found brought about the gathering of thousands of persons at Revolution Square (Havana City). That day, Fidel Castro said the famous words: “When a vigorous and virile people weep, injustice trembles”.
